Consultant – Public Relations Specialist

Status: Full Time

Partner Forces, LLC., is seeking a Consultant to support a Department of Homeland Security client. The Consultant will provide a variety of public relations, strategic communications, and outreach assistance to help enhance the security of the nation’s critical infrastructure. The Consultant will serve as a key senior member of a fast-paced Strategic Communications and Outreach team.

Core Requirements & Essential Duties

  • Plan, develop, coordinate, and edit polished content for a variety of traditional media, digital media (webinars, video production), social media, special articles and features, to inform internal and external audiences regarding key issues, initiatives, and policy updates. Ensure messages are grammatically sound and appropriately targeted to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop high-quality internal communications (talking points, memos, briefings, draft reports, newsletters, tasker responses, mass email blasts, website content updates, etc.) for final client review.
  • Develop and execute effective communication strategies and solutions for senior leadership.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships at multiple levels within the client site, to create and disseminate coordinated messages that accurately address programs and initiatives.
  • Develop and measure the effectiveness of internal and external communication strategies and activities.
  • Improve the Strategic Communications stakeholder engagement and social media processes through the creation of standard operating procedures.
  • Lead ISC branding strategy through the creation of infographics intended to strengthen ISC work products, publications, and social media content.

On-Going Tasks

  • Conduct stakeholder outreach and manage extensive federal interagency coordination and communications.
  • Support the planning and logistics of virtual and in-person events and meetings including Member Meetings, monthly Annual Meetings with members, and other ad hoc events, conferences, and webinars.
  • Manage Strategic Communications Calendar.
  • Manage extensive and ongoing updates to a Roster distro list.
  • Manage updates to Strategic Communications plan.
  • Assist in planning and development of an Annual Report.
  • Review and track meeting minutes for key engagements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Exceptional verbal/written communication skills, copy editing, and presentation skills • Ability to multi-task and excel in a team environment
  • Manage quick turn, short-term taskers as well as long-term strategic projects
  • Outstanding organizational and planning abilities; bring ideas and solutions to the table and be ready to execute them fully
  • 5-7 years of relevant professional experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DHS HQ suitability required; current preferred
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in public relations, communications, political science or related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in photo and image-editing software, including Adobe InDesign and Canva
  • Drupal web content design experience preferred
  • 508 Compliance editing experience preferred
