Summer Intern

Status: Full Time
Location: Metro DC Area

Our Internship Program is a 10-week program that will provide qualified students the opportunity for professional development by building relationships, gaining corporate experience, and learning about federal government consulting. Interns will be an integral member of our client service team, collaborating with diverse and talented team members to help our clients solve problems, improve performance, and implement enhancements to their strategic priorities. Throughout the course of the internship, interns will be assigned to one or more client projects where they will receive mentorship and support to help achieve success. In addition, the internship opportunity will provide professional development opportunities, networking and social events, the unique opportunity to participate in an intern-led community service project, end-of-summer review process, and an end-of-summer symposium!  The ideal candidate can see the big picture in any situation, has an entrepreneurial and process improvement mindset and can handle any situation with composure and empathy. We’re looking for assertive, well-spoken, and compassionate students who are dependable, service-minded, and results-oriented.

Core Requirements & Essential Duties

  • Be curious and try new things.
  • Think broadly and ask questions about data, facts and other information.
  • Support research, analysis and problem solving using a variety of tools and techniques.
  • Work with an experienced team to support the development of client deliverables, internal and client presentations, and day-today project logistics.
  • Contribute to the development of strategic direction for projects and identify and design analytical tasks to address the key project targets.
  • Contribute to internal discussions that build insights from the analytical process.
  • Work independently to develop and produce a thought leadership piece.
  • Communicate confidently in a clear, concise and articulate manner – verbally and in materials produced.
  • Embrace different points of view and welcome opposing ideas.
  • Strengthen your knowledge of professional services industry as well as consulting methodologies.

Education And Experience Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a four-year college degree with a scheduled graduation date between Winter 2023 and Summer of 2024.
  • Current Masters or other advanced degree student.

Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements

  • Excel in a team-oriented, collaborative environment teams to produce high-impact work products, reports, and other deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
  • Be able to clearly articulate and present ideas and findings to a varied audience, including the operations staff and senior leadership.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and an ability to multi-task and work well individually.
  • Strong skills in Excel and/or Tableau.
  • Experience with PowerPoint.
  • Graphic design experience is a plus!

STATUS: Full-time (35 hours/week)
DATES: June 5 – August 10, 2023
COMPENSATION: $25/hour
