Cybersecurity Analyst

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Cybersecurity Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) requires professional support services to assist the Stakeholder Engagement Division (SED) with conducting programmatic assessments and measurement activities to support a high-profile grant program. This position supports functions related to cybersecurity, analytics, and risk analysis. This is a non-technical role and requires the application of information technology and cybersecurity knowledge, principles, and best practices to support program administration, assessment, and decision-making.

Core Requirements & Essential Duties

  • Review and interpret data to describe programmatic impact in reducing cyber risk.
  • Apply federal cybersecurity frameworks and leading practices to produce analytic assessments.
  • Present results and recommendations, written and verbally, to non-technical audiences.
  • Identify criteria to determine how cybersecurity plans and investments impact cyber maturity.
  • Conduct research, analyze findings, and write reports to synthesize complex topics such as cybersecurity maturity within the Federal government.
  • Develop deliverables such as assessment reports, internal and external briefings, data/project impact summaries, lessons learned, and after-action reports.
  • Support the review of programmatic documents using subject matter expertise and an understanding of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency (CISA) policies.
  • Design supporting documentation, such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and briefing materials.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned. The omission of the specific duties does not preclude the supervisor or client from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Qualifications

  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DHS Suitability and/or a Secret clearance.
  • A bachelor’s degree is required.
  • At least 3 years of relevant cybersecurity work experience.
  • Technically conversant. Ability to apply technical capabilities in a management consulting setting.
  • Strong non-technical soft skills such as written and verbal communication.
  • CompTIA Security +, (ISC)2’s “Certified in Cybersecurity” or other relevant certification required.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills required.
